Using my smart phone cover/wallet as the tee, this first practice ever...both Brennan and Oliver did very well. We will use 1in and 2in tees in our next practice, which should result in higher and longer kicks. for both boys. A very good start.

Get closer to the Ball - try different angles:
immediately behind and on the the target line to the goal posts - for line up and PAT and Kickoff kicks
try a few from behind the kicker after line up (path to the ball - start to plant and kick)
A couple close up on the ball for foot to ball contact drills - No Step Kick Drill, One Step Kick Drill
We practiced how to practice mostly today.

Kick Practice (35 minutes)
Foot to ball contact exercise - grab goal post lean to the left...practice kicking foot placement to post approximating where you want to kick the ball - bottom third of the ball, with the mid-foot bone (2 to 3 eyelets from the top of the shoe). We will add No Step Kick Drill and One Step Kick Drill to focus on foot to ball contact in the future.
PAT kick steps (and practice kicking PATs) - Line up (4 steps back, 2 steps left), Start kick spot 3 steps away from Plant spot, less than 10 inches away from the ball - Left - Right - Left to Plant and Kick
Kick Off steps (and practice kicking KOs) - Line up (4 steps back, 2 steps left), Start kick 7 steps away from Plant spot, less than 10 inches away from the ball - Walk step - Walk step - Jog step - Jog step - Left - Right - Left to Plant and Kick.
Can't wait for our 2nd practice, With 1 and 2 inch teas, these boys should be able to clear the goal posts with ease!
